Buying and changing tickets
Do I need to book a ticket online?
We advise to book a ticket online. Holders of, among others, the Museum Pass, ICOM, Stadspas and Friends Card should also reserve their tickets online.
I have a Museum Pass; do I still have to make an online reservation?
We strongly recommend to buy a ticket online. Please bring the Museum Pass and show it in the museum.
I have a VriendenLottery VIP CARD; do I still have to make an online reservation?
We strongly recommend to buy a ticket online. Please bring the VIP CARD and show it in the museum.
Why do you recommend booking tickets online?
The advantage of the purchase of an online ticket is that there is little or no waiting time at the entrance.
Can I change my online ticket(s)?
Up to 48 hours before the reserved visit day, we are happy to help you find a new time for your visit. Rebooking tickets is only possible if a new date is available. Please note: do not book tickets for a different date yourself. Please contact us via the contact information at the bottom of the page.
I want to cancel my ticket, what should I do?
Tickets purchased online are non-refundable. Up to 48 hours before your visit, it is possible to change tickets to another date, subject to availability. Please contact us via the contact information at the bottom of the page.
Can I book by telephone?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve tickets by telephone. Order the tickets easily and quickly through our website.
Each ticket has the same name on it. Is that a problem?
No, that is not a problem. The ticket shows the name of the person who placed the order and paid. Each individual ticket has a unique barcode and QR code, which is scanned at the entrance.
Do I have to print the ticket?
You can print an online ticket, but you don’t have to. You can also show the ticket on a mobile device at the entrance. If you have a discount card, such as a Museum Pass, you have to show this as well.
Help – I have a booking problem
I have not received my ticket, but the money has been debited from my account.
There could be different reasons:
- The email with the tickets could be in the spam box or junk mail folder. With Gmail, the email is often in the special folder for spam or promotions.
- There may be a spelling error in the email address, for example. Please contact us using the form at the bottom of this page, then we will correct it and resend the tickets.
- Server problems can cause delays. Please wait and then check your email after a while.
I am unable to reserve a ticket online.
There may be several reasons why you cannot order a ticket. Check your internet connection and refresh the web page. You can also try again in a different browser. Sometimes it helps to restart the computer.
I cannot get through the checkout page because I keep ending up on the same page.
There could be different reasons:
- You can only go to the next page in the ordering process if all details are entered correctly. When paying by credit card, please make sure that the cardholder’s details are correct. Do not forget to enter your CVC code if you are paying by credit card. If paying by bank, the bank details must be correct.
- Please be careful to avoid double payments! So, please check whether the payment was successful before making another attempt.
- Sometimes it helps to use a different browser.
- Is your balance insufficient or has the payment been refused by the credit card company? Please try again, possibly with a different card.
I am having problems downloading my ticket(s) on the order page.
After you have paid, you will receive an email with the tickets attached as PDF files.
Discount cards
Can I book an online ticket with a discount using my Stadspas?
Due to the corona measures, also Stadspas holders are required to book a ticket online.
I have forgotten my discount card. Can you check at the entrance if I am a discount card holder?
If you have purchased a ticket with a discount and are unable to show your discount card at the entrance, we regrettably cannot grant you access. The Cobra Museum does not have databases of organisations that issue discount cards, so we cannot check whether someone is a cardholder.
Is it possible to get a student discount?
Yes, the museum has a special rate for students. Please, book a ticket online. Bring your student pass or CJP pass to the museum, it will be checked at the entrance.
Is there a discount for seniors, groups or teachers?
There is no discount for seniors or groups. There are, however, special rates for school groups.
The museum has a special rate for teachers with a CJP teachers’ card. Supervisors/teachers of school groups get free access.
Can I book online with an ICOM card or Rembrandt card?
Due to the corona measures, it is also mandatory for visitors with an ICOM card or Rembrandt card to reserve a free ticket online.
Facilities
Can I store my luggage with you?
The museum has a cloakroom where you can store your coat and umbrella yourself. Bags and small Large bags are not allowed in the museum. The lockers and cloakroom are not suitable for large bags, so we recommend leaving large bags at home. However, small bags with a size of up to A4 and about 10 cm thick are allowed in the museum.The museum has a cloakroom where you can store your coat and umbrella yourself.
Prams and buggies are allowed in the museum, as well as walkers, wheelchairs and other aids for people with access needs. You can book out a wheelchair free of charge at the register. There is no audio tour available.
What are the museum’s opening times?
The Cobra Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5pm.

I have access needs. Can I buy a ticket online? Does my companion also need a ticket?
People with access needs have to buy a ticket online. Visitors who are unable to move around the museum on their own can bring a companion free of charge. You do have to reserve a free ticket for the companion (‘begeleider’).
