Celebrate the Japanese summer with Tanabata – The Star Festival at Atelier Cobra! Tanabata is a traditional Japanese festival celebrating the meeting of two lovers, the cowherd Hikoboshi and princess Orihime. According to legend, they are only allowed to meet once a year, on the seventh day of the seventh month.
During this festival, people write their wishes on colored strips of paper called Tanzaku and hang them on a bamboo tree. Each color has a meaning: yellow stands for prosperity, white for a new beginning, and so on.
At Atelier Cobra, you can make your own Tanzaku and hang your (summer) wish on our wish tree. Paper and instructions are provided, so all you need to bring is your wish!
