Step into the world of Shodō, traditional Japanese calligraphy, and discover how writing becomes an art form. In this inspiring workshop, you will learn the basic techniques of calligraphy with a Fude—a traditional calligraphy pen—and work on your own artwork based on carefully selected Japanese characters.

About Namine
Since the age of five, I have grown up with Shodō (Japanese calligraphy), not only as a discipline, but as part of everyday life. For me, it is more than just writing.

Before moving to Europe, I worked for a local government in Japan, where I remained closely connected to Japanese culture and community. Seven years ago, I moved to Europe to pursue a new path in the world of programming. Since then, I have been working professionally as a software developer, combining creativity and logic in a different way.

Now that I am raising my daughter, who has both Japanese and Dutch roots, I feel an even stronger desire to open up Japanese tradition to others who are curious about Japan. Through my calligraphy workshops, I hope to connect people with Japanese culture and show it as an art form to be enjoyed.
