Museum Cobra invites you to a Ballroom-inspired evening where movement, fashion, music, art and transformation come together. On Saturday, June 29, House of Vineyard creates a place to experiment and twist the codes of gender among the work of Pierre Verger and Diana Blok.
Program
The program begins with a Twist Shop: Walk-in workshop by Anarist Vineyard from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Twist Shop is an imaginative pop-up shop for anyone of all ages and backgrounds looking for a way to explore your gender identity.
At 7:45 p.m., Walking & Twisting the binary: Runway workshop by Amber Vineyard begins. Amber Vineyard will teach you the intricacies of walking, posing and embodiment during this workshop in preparation for the grand finale! In Ballroom culture, walking is an art and a radical act of gender experimentation. Through exaggerated movements, gestures and stylish choices, participants can subvert conventional gender norms.
The evening ends with a Runway with a twist (OTA) from 9 to 10 p.m.
Mother Amber Vineyard invites you to run and twist to the music of DJ Frandy Perez. Show off your best runway look with the items you scored during the Twist Shop.
“We challenge you to twist.”
