On May 24, the winners of the Naturally Amstelveen photo contest were festively announced. Together with the jury and Children’s Mayor Milanka, Alderman for City Promotion and Economic Affairs Adam Elzakalai presented the prizes. The winning and nominated photos are now on display at the Cobra Museum of Modern Art.
In the spring, when nature in Amstelveen is at its most beautiful, Visit Amstelveen organized the photo contest Natuurlijk Amstelveen in cooperation with Canon. More than 500 entries of nature photos, made during explorations through polders, parks and the Amsterdamse Bos, were received.
Alderman Adam Elzakalai emphasized the purpose of the contest: “With Visit Amstelveen, we wanted to draw attention to the beautiful nature of our city, so that both visitors and residents can enjoy it even more. The response was overwhelming with more than 500 entries and over 850 votes for the audience award. I am proud of the stunning photos of both the winners and nominees.”
