Publication Launch – Sunday October 26
Kishio Suga – Where Both Sides Meet by Museum Cobra

Join us for the exclusive launch of Kishio Suga – Where Both Sides Meet on October 26, 15:30–17:00 at Museum Cobra, hosted by Suzanne Wallinga and Eloise Sweetman.
This bilingual publication marks the beginning of De A van Cobra, a new series by Museum Cobra—personal, poetic and open, giving space to the artist’s own voice. The first edition features a special conversation between Kishio Suga and Hans Ulrich Obrist, Artistic Director of the Serpentine Galleries in London, whose extensive dialogues with artists worldwide have shaped a remarkable archive of contemporary thought.
During the launch, Suzanne Wallinga, Director of Museum Cobra, will lead a curator’s tour of the exhibition Kishio Suga: Where Both Sides Meet—Suga’s first solo exhibition in the Netherlands. The event also offers the opportunity to obtain a copy of the publication.
In the late 1960s, Suga and the Mono-ha movement resisted the urge to control or shape nature, presenting materials—wood, stone, rope, metal—as they are: raw, temporary and vulnerable. This approach resonates with Cobra’s own spirit of freedom and material engagement.
Where Both Sides Meet invites readers into the space between movement and stillness, between material and idea, between artist and audience—where art truly exists.
